Veteran Pakistani film and drama actor Khalid Butt has passed away in Lahore after protracted illness.

Khalid Butt started his career in 1970s, and featured in several films, theaters and TV dramas. He entered showbiz world as an assistant and later went on to direct a film as well.

Government of Pakistan awarded him pride of performance for his artistic services.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed grief over the sad demise of prominent Pakistan television, theatre and film actor Khalid Butt.

In a condolence message, Anwaar-ul-Haq commiserated with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.

He said Khalid Butt was the most talented actor of Pakistan television, theatre and film industry.

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Khalid Butt.

In his condolence message, he commiserated with the bereaved family.
