Pakistan calls for inclusive social development
February 12, 2025

At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for inclusive social development.

Making a statement during general debate on the 63rd Session on the Commission on Social Development, Pakistan’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said developing countries’ efforts for inclusive social development are being stymied by the lack of the financial and structural resources in their pursuit of the 2030 Agenda.

Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan has introduced programs such as Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Prime Minister’s Youth Program, micro financing schemes, universal health coverage programs and e-governance initiatives for public service delivery to promote social inclusion and development.
