Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah says the cyclonic storm, ‘Biparjoy’ is likely to hit cities and towns of coastal belt from tomorrow till Saturday, which may cause heavy rains in Badin, Sujawal, Umerkot, Tharparkar, and Karachi.
He has urged people not to come out of their homes unnecessarily if the storm hits the coastal belt.
Meanwhile, Sindh government has ordered to cancel leaves of staff of the local bodies to cope with any kind of untoward situation in coastal areas of the province.
The Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Sohail Rajput has directed the divisional commissioners of Karachi and Hyderabad to ensure evacuation of people from areas which could possibly be hit by the Cyclone.
The Sindh chief secretary also directed to clear choking points of storm drains, sewerage lines and billboards be removed.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioners have been directed to establish control rooms to monitor the situation and prepare a contingency plan to cope with the situation.
