The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a flash flood alert for Hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan Division.
According to NDMA, medium level flash flooding is expected up to 0800 Hours on Tuesday.
The public is advised to stay informed by keeping track of weather updates and alerts.
NDMA has launched the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application, available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store, to provide timely alerts, advisories, and guidelines to the public.
General public is advised to refrain from walk, swim, or drive through flooded waters. Use alternative routes to avoid areas prone to flooding.
NDMA has issued instructions to all relevant departments to take necessary precautions to mitigate the possible effects of flooding and extreme weather.
According to Hydrological outlook of rivers and water reservoirs, low Level flows are expected in catchment of Mangla Dam.
Low to Medium level flows expected in River Chenab at Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad along with nullahs and streams of Pir Panjal Range.
Medium Level flow is expected in River Kabul and its tributaries. Medium Level flows are expected in River Indus at Kalabagh and Chashma along with Taunsa and Guddu Barrages.
Low to Medium Flows are expected in hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan division as well as Zhob, Sibi and Kalat divisions.
As result of these forecasts, flash flooding is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa divisions, Nullahs of Ravi and Chenab catchments as well as Nullahs of Zhob, Sibbi, Nasirabad and Kalat divisions.
Settlements under the flood plains of Chashma-Taunsa and Taunsa-Guddu reach may be affected.
