In the United States, the death toll due to the wildfires in the state of California has soared to twenty-four, whereas dozens of people are missing. 

The weather forecasters in California are warning fierce winds that fuelled the infernos around Los Angeles are expected to pick up again this week.

Meanwhile, the firefighters are trying their best to make progress controlling three wildfires.
