President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has sought Islamic Development Bank’s assistance in combating environmental problems in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the AJK President said that during a detailed meeting with the IDB President Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jassar in Saudi’s city of Jeddah, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir told him that the deforestation in region is posing serious environmental problems.
Highlighting the plight of people living in villages adjacent to the Line of Control, Barrister Sultan said that the IDB should play its role in alleviating the sufferings of the people settled in these highly volatile areas.
On this occasion, the IDB President assured his full support and cooperation to the AJK President saying that the Bank would provide its full support and assistance for the development of Azad Kashmir.
