India wants to mislead world by holding G20 meeting in IIOJK: Analysts
April 13, 2023

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): It is unfortunate that India is going to host the G-20 conference in IIOJ&K in an attempt to get legitimacy for its illegal occupation in Kashmir valley. India always kept on misleading the international community on the Kashmir issue whereas Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory. As Kashmir issue is the main bone of contention between Pakistan and India, the G-20 nations must refrain from participating in the event being held in the disputed territory. The International community is well aware of the importance of the Kashmir issue in the region and also aware of Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. Unfortunately, the world is hesitant to force India to stop its aggression in the occupied valley for the sake of their economic interests with India.

Dr Muhammad Khan (IR Expert): No international conferences can be organized in any disputed territory as per International laws and norms. By hosting the G-20 summit in the disputed territory, India is violating international laws and UN resolutions as well. Pakistan must advocate the Kashmir dispute and consult with the United Nations over Indian illegal decisions. We should engage our mission in G-20 countries to convince them not to participate in the summit expected to be held in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Turkey and China are also among the members of G-20 countries and both these countries share a common narrative on Kashmir dispute with Pakistan. Unfortunately, the international community due to political, economic and diplomatic interests with India is reluctant to force India to ensure implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir dispute.
