International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is being observed on Sunday. This year theme of the day is “Sendai Seven”. Disaster Risk Reduction Day is observed every year on this day by the United Nations to raise awareness and educate people about several foreseeable disasters, including climate change.

The day promotes disaster prevention and uses political power to create awareness on several preventive methods.
