Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has reaffirmed government's commitment to overcoming any obstacles in the Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project and the Diamer Bhasha Dam initiatives for the benefit of the nation.

He was chairing a meeting to review the progress and challenges of the Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project and the Diamer Bhasha Dam in Islamabad today.

Ahsan Iqbal directed the concerned authorities to expedite repair work of Neelam Jhelum Hydropower Project and develop a detailed plan based on scientific studies to provide a sustainable solution, ensuring long-term stability and value for the investment.

The meeting also focused on the Diamer Bhasha Dam that will store water for irrigation, help manage floods, and generate 4,500 megawatts of electricity.

The Planning Minister directed for immediate resolution of land-related issues to enable project commencement.
