Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that emergency relief measures are underway for the residents of Pir Koh, Dera Bugti who were facing a cholera epidemic.

In a tweet, he reiterated federal government’s support and assistance to Balochistan.

On Saturday, the prime minister had taken a notice of the cholera outbreak in Pir Koh, Dera Bugti and issued directions to the relevant federal and provincial authorities to take emergency measures to contain its spread.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan, health teams along with ambulances and medicines have been dispatched to the PirKoh area of district Dera Bugti to control Cholera disease. In a statement on Sunday, Provincial Health Secretary Saleh Muhammad Nasar said all possible measures are being taken to control Cholera disease.
