The White House has confirmed the US President Joe Biden’s first trip to the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and an expected meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement that the trip would take place between 13th to 16th next month. Biden will also visit Israel and the occupied West Bank.

She said Biden will attend a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council plus Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan.

Jean-Pierre said with the US President will discuss with the Saudi leadership a range of bilateral, regional and global issues, including to a continuing UN-mediated truce in fighting in Yemen, where Riyadh has led a coalition fighting Houthi rebels since 2015.
