Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Faisal Karim Kundi says Benazir Income Support Program is providing assistance to over 8.9 million people of the country to alleviate poverty and improve their living standard.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today, he said BISP has a pivotal role in the social safety system of the country.

He said BISP is also playing a crucial role in the women empowerment to ensure their due contribution in the national development.

He said support was extended to help the deserving people during the recent floods and corona pandemic under the BISP.
