In Afghanistan, the Taliban have taken over Maidan Shar, the capital city of Wardak province on Sunday just 35 kilometres from Kabul.

Taliban Spokeman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed on social media that they have captured the city after the security forces retreated to Kabul.
