Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has strongly rejected the news regarding issuance of arrest warrants against one hundred and fifty journalists.
In his televised remarks, he said all those people, against whom arrest warrants have been issued, are involved in inciting to violence on the social media. He said majority of these elements are political activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
The Minister further urged the media to do a responsible journalism and refrain from spreading fake news.
He said the PTI is involved in stoking anti-state agenda by spreading AI generated fake images on the digital platforms.
Attaullah Tarar urged parents to counsel their children so that they do not fall prey to the digital campaign against state institutions.
He said the nation will not forget incident of May 9 and culprits involved in this incident will be brought to the justice.
