Government of Gilgit Baltistan and National Information Technology Board have decided formation of joint strategy to developed IT sector and promotion of modern technology in Gilgit-Baltistan.
A high-level delegation headed by Additional Chief Secretary Development Gilgit-Baltistan Mushtaq Ahmed held an important meeting with the officials of National Information Technology Board (NITB) Islamabad to promote digital development and reforms in the government system through IT in Gilgit Baltistan.
Implementation of e-office system in Gilgit-Baltistan, establishment of e-service centers, and improvement of human resource management system in government offices were discussed in detail.
The Additional Chief Secretary said concrete steps are being taken with the support of the federal government to build modern IT infrastructure and promote e-governance in Gilgit-Baltistan.
On this occasion, the officials of the National Information Technology Board assured full cooperation to further improve the digital initiatives in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting decided that a joint strategy will be developed for the promotion of modern technology in the region.
The Additional Chief Secretary further said that this meeting will be an important milestone in the journey of digital transformation in Gilgit-Baltistan, which will also improve transparency and efficiency in government affairs.
