The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a 53 percent increase in prize money for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, set to commence in Pakistan next week.
According to ICC, the winning team will receive an impressive $2.24 million along with the prestigious trophy, while the runners-up will take home $1.12 million. The total prize pool for the tournament has been raised to $6.9 million, reflecting the ICC’s commitment to promoting the sport globally.
Each losing semi-finalist will be awarded $560,000, while teams finishing in fifth or sixth place will receive $350,000. The seventh and eighth-placed teams will take home $140,000, with a group-stage victory earning teams an additional $34,000.
The tournament, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, marks a significant moment for Pakistan as it hosts an ICC event, promising thrilling cricket action for fans worldwide.
