Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said the government's goal is to make the National Police Academy an institution of international standards.
This he stated while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding the restructuring of the academy at National Police Academy in Islamabad today.
During the visit the Interior Minister was briefed about the National Police Academy's upgradation plan.
The upgradation plan includes establishment of an Elite Force Training School and Technical Training Center along with indoor and outdoor firing ranges at the academy.
It was decided in the meeting that the National Police Academy will be upgraded on the lines of the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.
The Interior Minister directed the authorities concerned to increase the area of the parade ground, making it larger and more aesthetically appealing.
He also directed that a residential block for the under training officers should be constructed on priority basis.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed that the up-gradation process be carried out phased-wise to ensure efficient execution.
The meeting was attended by key officials including the Commandant of the National Police Academy, Chairman of the CDA, Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, and other relevant officials.
