Eritrea has agreed to start pulling its troops from Ethiopia's Tigray region today amid international pressure.

This was confirmed by Eritrea's UN Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam on Information Ministry's website.

However, she did not give a timeline for the withdrawal but the statement is being deemed a formal acceptance of the presence of Eritrean troops in Ethiupia.

The U.S. and the European Union have on several occasions called on Eritrean troops to leave Tigray after reports of looting, sexual violence, assaults in refugee camps and other human-rights abuses.
