The G-7 has called for a transparent probe into the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

A statement by Canada, which currently holds the presidency of G-7, said the foreign ministers of the group seven affirm their commitment to defending freedom of expression and protection of a free press.

The statement said that Turkish-Saudi collaboration for the investigation into the disappearance of the senior journalist is encouraged.
