Dr Shafqat Munir (Social Development Expert): The development sector has been demanding of the government that health and development policies should be aligned with ground requirements. However it is good step that the government is making five years’ plan on social development and it will lead us towards a population based policy especially in health sector. During next five years, the gap between the population and policies will be bridged. We have to align the population growth with our resources. Population should also be aligned with available infrastructure. Moreover, infrastructure should also be climate resilient. We can’t meet any requirement of national development with such fast growing population, so pace of population growth will also have to be rationalized.
