Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated 100 Mega Watt Polan-Gabd electricity transmission line project from Iran to Gwadar at Mand-Pishin crossing point of Pakistan-Iran border on Thursday.

Speaking on the ocassion, the Prime Minister proposed to further strengthen border security mechanism along the Pak-Iran frontier to make it a symbol of peace, brotherhood, development and prosperity.

He said there should be no confusion about the border security as both Pakistan and Iran will utilize all resources and energies to make their common frontier peaceful and secured. Speaking on the ocassion, Iranian President said brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran are further strengthening with passage of time.

He said Iran wants to increase trade with Pakistan for the best interest of people of both the countries.

The two leaders also inaugurated sustenance marketplace at Mand-Pishin crossing point.

This is one of the six border markets, which will be constructed along Pak-Iran border.

Meanwhile, in a tweet, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the project had been pending since 2009 and completed now in record time of four months under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

She said the project will unleash development, trade, business and employment opportunities contributing to future prosperity of people of Gwadar and Balochistan.
