United Nations has urged rich countries to help the poor people worldwide suffering from food insecurity.
Speaking during a UN Security Council virtual session, UN World Food Program's Executive Director David Beasley, highlighted that over seventeen million people were suffering severe food insecurity amid armed conflicts and COVID-19.
Drawing a comparison between rich and poor, Beasley noted that there are over 2,000 billionaires worldwide with a net worth of 8 trillion U.S. dollars while we need 4.9 billion U.S. dollars to feed, for one year, all 30 million people who will die without WFP's assistance.
