Federal Government has approved additional Rs8.5b for development projects in Gilgit Baltistan which amounts to 35 percent of allocated amount.
According to Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Mohiyyudin Wani, the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and the Secretary Planning informed the GB government about this decision.
He thanked Dr Jahanzeb and Secretary Planning Awais manzoor for this valuable decision.
Meanwhile DDWP meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary, approved 4 power projects which were sick since many years.
The meeting expressed commitment to complete these projects within current calendar and financial year.
These projects will provide the remote populations in Darrel, Raikot, Gais Ispay with access to electricity and significantly improve their lives.
We also approved integrated water supply project schemes for outskirts of Gilgit including Konodas area which will benefit more than 90,000 people.
Additional Chief Secretary Development forum has approved exciting projects in Skardu, including the construction of the SDA Complex, development of a public/family park near Cadet College, solarization of Benazir Hospital, and the supply of solar street lights in skardu.
