The Final of FIFA World Cup 2022 between defending champion France and Argentina at Lusail Stadium in Qatar is underway.

Millions of spectators across the world particularly in France and Argentina have lined up to watch the two teams fighting for mega event title.

France are aiming to become just the third team to retain the trophy in its 92-year history, following in the footsteps of Italy and Brazil.

For Argentina, the hopes and dreams of the nation rest of the shoulders of Lionel Messi.

The greatest player of all time, he is hoping to crown a glittering career with a World Cup winners medal in what the 35-year-old says will be his final game for his country.

Earlier, a colourful closing ceremony was held with 88,000 spectators and millions of football fans across the world through tv screens.

A Night to Remember was set out with a mashup of songs from the Official Soundtrack that marked memorable moments of the tournament.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte are also among those dignitaries to watch the historic moment.

At the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan flew to Doha,  to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony, of the first World Cup held in an Arab country.
