At least two people were killed and twenty-four injured in a hand grenade attack at a mourning procession in Bahawalnagar on Thursday.
According to District Emergency Officer 1122 Bahawalnagar, Rao Sharafat Ali, the incident occurred when the mourning procession was passing through Jail Road.
He said the injured have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar.
Our Bahawalpur correspondent Sajjad Parvez reports that Punjab Minister for Zakat and Ushr Mian Shukat Ali Lalika visited the hospital where he inquired about the injured persons and also directed the health officials to provide them best available treatment facilities.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has condemned the hand grenade attack on a mourning procession in Bahawalnagar today.
In a statement, he said anti-state elements want to create chaos in the country during Moharram.
He said coward acts of terrorists cannot undermine our resolve against terrorism.
The Information Minister said anti-social elements will not succeed in their nefarious designs.
