Senior Taliban member and negotiator Anas Haqqani has held talks with former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and senior official Abdullah Abdullah, as they seek to form a government in Afghanistan.

The ousted President Ashraf Ghani, who is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said he also supports the negotiations between the Taliban and former top officials and wants its success. He said he is also in his own talks to return home.

Taliban have pledged not to seek revenge against opponents and they have ordered the release of political detainees, telling provincial governors to free them without any restrictions or conditions.
