Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced to observe the Yaum-e-Tameer-o-Tarraqi on eighth of the next month.

Addressing a function in Islamabad today, he said high achievers in different fields will be conferred awards on this day besides other activities.

Talking about political situation of the country, Attaullah Tarar said negotiations are underway between political parties for stability in the country. He said both political and economic stability is vital for taking the country forward on the path of development and prosperity.

The Minister said Pakistan is going to host ICC Champions Trophy this year and the best possible arrangements are being finalized.

He said hosting ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan is a matter of pride for the country and it will further improve the Pakistan's image at the world level.
