Pakistan, Rwanda agree to boost trade, investment cooperation

Pakistan and Rwanda have agreed on the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation, in the areas of trade and investment.

The agreement to this effect came at the first round of Bilateral Political Consultations between both countries, held in Kigali today.

Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa) Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan led the Pakistani delegation, while Permanent Secretary of Rwanda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Clementine Mukeka headed the Rwandan side.

The areas where both countries agree to cooperate were initiation of MoU on Preferential Trade Agreement, defence and security, education, culture, science, Information Technology and agriculture.

The two sides underscored the importance of international cooperation in tackling common global challenges and resolved to deepen cooperation in multilateral fora.

Earlier, the two sides signed the MoU instituting the Bilateral Political Consultations between the two friendly countries.
