Corps investiture ceremonies of Rawalpindi Corps and Karachi corps were held at Chaklala Garrison and Malir Cantt respectively today [Friday].
According to ISPR, Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza conferred 89 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), 36 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 19 Tamgha-i-Basalat to Army officers and soldiers for their meritorious services to the nation.
Next of kins of Shuhada received their awards posthumously.
Similarly, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed conferred eleven Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 15 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 10 Tamgha-e-Basalat to officers, soldiers and families of Shuhadas for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
The ceremony was attended by Army officials and families of shuhada.
Speaking on the occasion, the Corp Commander paid rich tribute to the martyrs.
