Election Commission Punjab has released details regarding total number of accepted and rejected nomination papers of candidates filed for general elections 2018.
According to available latest details, two thousand three hundred and forty-two candidates are eligible to contest National Assembly seats while six thousand one hundred and seventy-three candidates will contest Provincial Assembly seats.
The Returning Officers of National Assembly rejected nomination papers of two hundred and eight candidates while nomination papers have been rejected by Returning Officers of provincial Assembly are five hundred and sixty-eight.
It is worth mentioning that seventy-two candidates are eligible to contest National Assembly seats for reserved seats for women including non Muslim while one hundred and seventy-three candidates will contest Provincial Assembly reserved seats.
The Returning Officers of National Assembly rejected nomination papers one hundred and sixty-five for reserved seats for women including non Muslims while four hundred and eighty-eight nomination papers have been rejected by Returning Officers for Provincial Assembly.
