China has urged international community to encourage and support solidarity and cooperation of all parties and ethnic groups in Afghanistan, to open a new chapter in Afghan history.

During regular briefing in Beijing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said the United States has left difficult problems in Afghanistan and the process of peace and reconstruction is hard to go off smoothly.

On maintaining contact and communication with Taliban and other parties, she said China is maintaining communication on the basis of full respect for sovereignty of Afghanistan and the will of all parties.

The spokesperson said the leaders and spokesperson of Taliban have said publicly through different channels that they would resolve the problems of Afghan people meet their aspirations and stay committed to forming an open and inclusive Islamic government.

She said the Chinese side takes note of these positive statements and signals.

Hua Chunying said China has also noticed that some political figures of Russia and other countries and many international media have recognized Taliban’s behaviour after they entered Kabul, believing that they have been taking good, positive and pragmatic actions.
