Saudi Arabia has confirmed the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
A statement by the Saudi Public Prosecutor said a fight broke out between Khashoggi and people who met him in the Consulate that led to his death.
Saudi King has fired two senior officials over the incident that has provoked an international outcry and strained relations between Riyadh and the West.
Deputy intelligence chief Ahmad al-Assiri and Saud al-Qahtani, senior aide to Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, were sacked over the affair.
The investigations are still underway and 18 Saudi nationals have been arrested in this context.
United States President Donald Trump told reporters that he considers the explanation from the Saudi Foreign Ministry of journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s death as 'credible'.
Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, had gone missing after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2nd of October.
