Japan provides 760 million yen for installation of weather surveillance Radar in Multan

The Government of Japan has provided an additional amount of 760 million yen for a project titled “Installation of Weather Surveillance Radar” in Multan amounting to 2.042 billion yen. 

Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs Dr. Kazim Niaz, and representative of the Embassy of Japan Ito Takeshi, signed the exchange notes on behalf of their governments in Islamabad.

The objective of the project is to help improve the Pakistan Meteorological Department's capabilities in meteorological observation, weather forecasting and dissemination of warnings through the installation of a sophisticated radar system.
