In Sri Lanka, voting is underway to elect the ninth Executive President of country for period of five years.

Thirty-eight candidates are contesting the election, whereas about 17 million voters are eligible to vote.

These are the first presidential elections after the country went through its worst-ever economic crisis since 2022.
