A ceremony on the occasion of Shab-e-Yalda was held at Khana Farhang Iran, Rawalpindi.

Addressing the ceremony, Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Agriculture Kazim Maisam said that Iran and Pakistan have a common culture like Shab-e-Yalda and jashn-e-May-phang event, which is celebrated in Baltistan. He said, to promote these similar events, steps from both sides should be taken.

He said that Gilgit-Baltistan's relationship with Iran is not emotional but Islamic, civilized and cultural as well.

Speaking on he occasion Director General Khana Farhang Iran Framarz Rehmanzad said that Yalda night has great importance in Iranian history and culture and is celebrated as a festival.

He said this festival is celebrated in different areas of Pakistan and through such celebrations the culture of both countries can be brought closer.

He said that in the ancient Iranian civilization, Shab-e-Yalda is considered the festival of the victory of light over darkness.
