The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called upon the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the diaspora worldwide to observe January 26, India's Republic Day, as a Black Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the call for observance of the day as Black Day aims to send a strong message to the global community that Kashmiris reject India's illegal occupation of their homeland.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned India's war crimes in the occupied territory.
He also urged the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, to take immediate steps to mobilize the international community for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, posters with slogans like 'Kashmiris observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day' were displayed in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley.
