China has urged the UN Security Council to push for ceasefire in Gaza.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said during a regular briefing in Beijing that protracted Palestinian-Israeli conflict has resulted in a devastating humanitarian situation in besieged enclave.

She said that China will continue to work with the rest of the international community to push the Council to take further actions that are meaningful for de-escalation and implementation of the two-state solution.
