President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have urged the people to conserve water and take responsibility for a greener and more resilient Pakistan.

In his message on  World Water Day, today the President said  we must take urgent measures to ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water for all.

The President said we must build climate-resilient infrastructure, prevent water pollution, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his message said the government’s Recharge Pakistan initiative is working to reduce drought impacts through ecosystem-based adaptation.

He said through Living Indus initiative we are implementing 25 priority interventions from promoting nature-based agriculture and restoring the Indus delta.

He said water is the cornerstone of life; fundamental to our economies, our food systems, and our environment.
