Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani says Islamophobia can be countered by following the teachings of mystics and sufis.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said mystics played a vital role in the promotion of peace, harmony and patience in the society.

The Chairman Senate said that a large number of people in Sub-continent embraced Islam by impressing the sound character of sufis.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani called upon the masses to follow the teachings of mystics in letter and spirit in order to tackle the contemporary challenges being faced by the world.
