Lahore Resolution was key factor behind Pakistan's creation: Amjad Magsi

Director of the Pakistan Studies Center Dr. Amjad Magsi stressed the importance of March 23rd, the day the Lahore Resolution was adopted in 1940, advocating for an independent state for Muslims in the Indian subcontinent.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan correspondent Zunera Khalid, he informed that first recorded usage of the word "Pakistan" (without the letter "i") by Chaudhry Rehmat Ali on January 28, 1933, during the Third Round Table Conference.

He said the Lahore Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, at Minto Park marked a pivotal moment in Pakistan's struggle for independence. This resolution, also known as the Pakistan Resolution, formally demanded a separate homeland for Muslims, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947.

Dr. Magsi emphasized that the Lahore Resolution was the key factor behind the creation of Pakistan.

Dr. Magsi also highlighted the significance of Radio Pakistan in preserving national history, emphasizing its evolution from audio to video service.

He underscored the importance of Radio Pakistan as a historical organization, noting that it broadcasted the first announcement of Pakistan's creation. He praised its journey from traditional audio broadcasts to modern video podcasts, calling it a significant milestone.
