May 23, 2024

Pakistan is using the Live Bus Global Positioning tracking system for the first time to monitor the movement of pilgrims arriving in Makkah after completing their eight-day stay in Madinah.

This was stated by Incharge Departure Cell Madinah Dr Shahid Ur Rehman Marth in an exclusive talk with Radio Pakistan Correspondent in Saudi Arabia Bilal Khan Mehsud today.

Dr Shahid Ur Rehman Marth further said that the purpose of this initiative is to ensure a seamless and timely journey for the pilgrims.

He said currently, around 85 buses ply between Madinah and Makkah to bring the intending pilgrims daily. He said the live monitoring system enabled the team to track the journey, including stopovers at Miqat Dhu al-Hulayfah (Masjid ash-Shajarah) to put on Ihram, and the rest areas for prayer and refreshment. Sharing the details of the pilgrims he said 19,118 Pakistani Hujjaj have arrived in Makkah.

It is noteworthy that the GPS tracking system has significantly improved the efficiency of the operation, ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience for the pilgrims.
