Pakistan's Hamza Khan won the World Junior Squash Championship in Melbourne on Sunday.
In the final, he beat Egyptian Mohamed Zakaria with a scoreline of 10-12, 14-12, 11-3 and 11-6.
Despite losing the first game, Hamza made a grand comeback to win three on the bounce.
Hamza also becomes the first player to win the event from Pakistan after Jansher Khan, who cliched the title 37 years ago.
President Dr Arif Alvi has congratulated Hamza Khan over his historic victory in World Junior Squash Championship 2023 after beating Egypt’s Mohamed Zakaria.
In a tweet on Sunday, the President said that Pakistan had an unprecedented and yet unmatched supremacy in squash.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hamza beat Zakaria 3-1 during the tournament that was held in Australia.
