Rana Ihsan Afzal (Special Coordinator to Prime Minster on Commerce and Industry):
The launching of this scheme is a welcoming step by the government as it aims to empower Youth by equipping them with latest skills. Youth is a big portion of population, and by utilizing its capacity, national economy can be stabilized and strengthened. There is no doubt that empowering youth will create long-term impact on economy and prosperity of the country. The previous government of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) launched Laptop Scheme for the talented students, which remained very beneficial, as it helped producing experts in Information Technology field, who later played their role in increasing IT exports.
Dr. Noor Fatima (Economist): The initiative of Youth Business Agricultural Loan Scheme taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is very encouraging for youth, as fifty percent of the population consists on youth. This scheme will generate more opportunities for the people and help new entrepreneurs to start their business in future. It will portray an overall good image of Pakistan in the international market. The young and energetic entrepreneurs will be in position to take their products to potential markets. Pakistani youth are talented and hardworking and they are passionate to compete in the international market exploiting whatever opportunities they have got in the country.
Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his team are efficiently and effectively defending and highlighting the major issues of Pakistan at the international fora. Pakistan is facing challenges of economic instability, political polarization, hostile border situation etc. Therefore, we need great support from the world community to overcome these challenges. Central Asia and Eurasia are the future trade markets which also provide an opportunity to enhance economic activities for Pakistan. The Foreign Minister and his team are in talks for establishing connectivity with energy-rich countries. Connectivity routes need to be made operative and efforts should be directed to achieve this aim. For this purpose, Pakistan needs to collaborate with the regional countries on priority basis as no country can cope with the problems single-handedly.
Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): Regional collaboration plays an important role in the economic development of the country as well as of the region. The game-changer project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor will have long-term impact on the development of the region. Pakistan holds great potential in the international market, but to exploit that potential we need to develop and accelerate our relations with the regional stakeholders by formulating the policies which could be mutually beneficial for all. The Foreign Minister is effectively advancing narrative of Pakistan at international fora. In the wake of global climatic challenges, the ECO has to take the flash floods situation of Pakistan seriously and provide assistance to cope with it. The member countries should focus on regional connectivity for the regional trade is more beneficial and it can boost the overall regional economic situation.
