Gilgit-Baltistan government is planning to establish tourism authority in consultation with all stakeholders to promote sustainable tourism in the areas.

According to Gilgit Baltistan Tourism Department, a task force has already been formed for strict monitoring and sustainability of tourist places, to promote winter tourism in the area.

According to the Tourism Department, around 55 percent area of Gilgit-Baltistan has not been explored so far and the government is taking various initiatives to ensure that the tourists get access to these unexplored areas.
