United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is visiting Turkey on Monday before heading to Moscow and Kyiv.
In a statement, Turkey's Foreign Ministry said the UN Secretary General will have a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
In his tweet, the UN chief underlined the need of urgent steps to save lives, end the human suffering and bring about peace in Ukraine.
He is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow tomorrow.
Then, he will visit Kyiv to see President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday.
Guterres will also be meeting the staff of UN agencies in Ukraine to discuss the scaling up of humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian people.
