UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland has stressed the need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. 

Briefing the UN Security Council session in New York, he said devastating impact of the hostilities on the civilian population in Gaza and the unprecedented humanitarian crisis remain deeply alarming.
