Rescue and Relief operations are underway in rain affected areas of Karachi and civic agencies are busy in draining stagnant rain water from low-lying areas.
Radio Pakistan Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado reports that staff of different departments including local bodies is busy in ensuring cleanliness in affected areas.
Most of the roads and areas have been cleared by civic agencies by using machinery and de-watering pumps.
Meanwhile, complete ban has been imposed by commissioner Karachi on swimming in the sea due to on-going rains and high tides in the sea.
All the Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners in the city have been directed to ensure implementation of ban and take action against violators.

Pakistan Army troops are assisting civil administration in rescue and relief efforts in areas hit by recent urban flooding in various parts of the country.
According to ISPR, Pakistan Army Emergency Response teams are consistently busy in dewatering and supplying basic food necessities and medical care to affected population.
Pakistan Army troops and mobile medical teams provided relief goods and free medicines to hundreds of locals in areas of Jamshoro, Gharo, Kemari and NIPA Chowrangi.
Besides, medical teams also provided medical aid to over 1,500 people at Quetta, Turbat and Lasbella in Balochistan.
