In Albania, seven people have been killed and hundreds injured after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the city near the capital, Tirana.  

The defence ministry said hundreds of buildings have been damaged and people are left trapped under rubble.

Several aftershocks have been felt and authorities have called on people to stay out of their homes.

The earthquake was felt across the region in Italy and in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a Tweet that government is working to do everything possible in the affected areas.
