Govt to support youth in creating solutions for modern challenges: Mashhood

Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Program Rana Mashhood Khan says the government will fully facilitate the youth to develop indigenous ideas to cope with the modern challenge.  

In an exclusive interview with the Radio Pakistan in Islamabad on Monday, he said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is the patron-in-chief of the recently established National Youth Council, representing the most talented young minds of the nation.

Rana Mashhood Khan said thousands of young girls and boys applied for the Youth Council from across the country and the Pakistani Diaspora abroad. One hundred boys and girls were selected from within the country and thirteen members from the overseas Pakistanis on merit basis. He said the members of the council are the top achievers of their respective fields.

The Chairman of Prime Minister's Youth Program said members of the advisory council in coordination with the youth of the county will develop their ideas with consensus and government will implement them.

Highlighting government's full focus on environment and climate change issue, he said the government has already established clubs under the name of Green Youth Movement at all universities of the country. Under this campaign, he said the youth of the universities prepare different projects and create awareness regarding the green economy and environment challenges.

He said the National Volunteer Core is going to be established and environment champions in the National Youth Council will suggest the way forward to excel in the green economy.

Rana Mashhood Khan said government will also arrange disaster risk management trainings to make the nation battle ready in view of climate change issues.
