Radio Pakistan's legendary Punjabi news reader Khalid Hazeen passed away in Islamabad this morning (Saturday) due to brain hemorrhage.
Khalid Hazeen read Punjabi news for about 35 years and got retired in 2014 in line with the government policy that no one would be engaged after 60 years of age.
He had a strong, thunderous, and beautiful voice with exemplary Punjabi pronunciation.
The legendary news reader was a well-educated and humane person as well as the hallmark of Punjabi news reading style. During his professional career, Khalid Hazeen always encouraged and promoted the raw talent in the field of news reading.
The Veteran News Reader was born in Sialkot and served at Karachi and Islamabad units of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation.
